This beautiful market town with its ancient buildings and alleyways, granted a Market Charter by King John in 1204, should be preserved and maintained with as much character as it has today Under our ownership of Skipton Castle and Woods, over almost half a century, we have restored and repaired this ancient part of our heritage for future generations. It is important that any Town developments should take into account the needs of both residents and visitors whilst maintaining the unique atmosphere of its historic past.
